1977 • Company was Founded

Applied Industrial & Architectural Plastics, Inc. (AiAP) was founded in the state of Colorado by Jim Donaldson. Jim Donaldson started the business with a 1,700 sq. ft. building; shortly thereafter, expanded into a 5,100 sq. ft. building.

1983 • AiAP Expands Production

With continued growth, AiAP expanded into a 10,000 sq. ft. building at our present location.

1987 • AiAP Expands Capabilities

AiAP expanded its capabilities and began fabricating plastics. During this time, AIAP also acquired Sunlight Systems and Solar Skylights.

1998 • Another Expansion for AiAP

Growth once again required AiAP to add another 10,000 sq. ft. to our existing building. We bought the double ended vacuum former & then acquired two other machines plus ovens when Cadillac Plastics (Plasticrafts) moved out of the fabrication business. This greatly increased our capabilities and customer base.

1999 • AiAP Industries Becomes Separate Corporation.

December of 1999 AiA Industries, Inc., (AiA) the architectural skylight arm of AIAP, split off as a separate corporation but was still closely associated with AiAP. AiA was incorporated as a sister company to AiAP.

2000 • AiA Industries, Inc. Expands Through Acquisition

AiA acquired Arcturus Skylights.

2003 • AiAP and AiA Expands Production

Continued growth led us to expand our facility and lease a 12,000 sq. ft. building for fabrication.

2014 • EcoWall™ was Introduced

AiA developed a thermally broken aluminum glazing system, called EcoWall™, for glazing multi-walled polycarbonate from 25 mm to 60 mm thickness for glazing as an option to other Translucent glazing materials offering diffused light transmission, great thermal qualities, and high impact resistance for new construction or replacement to existing systems.

2015 • AiA Industries, Inc. Expands Through Acquisition

2018 • AIAP and AiA Transition to the Next Generation

On August 23, 2018, founder Jim Donaldson retires and private equity firm, Dry Fly Capital, acquires AiAP and AiA as a combined entity AiA Industries, LLC.

2019 • AiA Industries, LLC Rebrands and Focuses on Skylights and Daylighting Systems

AiA Industries, LLC changes its name to DĀLYTE, an AiA Industries Company. In addition, in April 2019, DĀLYTE decides to sell the Plastics division of the Company in order to focus on skylights and daylighting systems.

2021 • Moving Forward
