Case Study: CWU Health Sciences Buildinginbuildsdev2021-04-01T11:33:47-06:00
Central Washington University (CWU) broke ground on the $60 million Health Sciences Building in Ellensburg in November of 2019. Designed by LMN Architects, the 80,748-gsf facility will provide leading-edge classroom and laboratory environments for programs in clinical physiology, nutrition, paramedicine, public health, and exercise sciences. Completing the university’s science precinct, the three-story structure will enable the consolidation of programs currently dispersed in four separate buildings across campus. LEED Gold certification will be sought for the sustainably designed facility, which is slated for occupancy in November of 2021. The building sits in a very historic part of campus and pays homage to the adjacent buildings. When the architects came up with some of the design features, they wanted it to be modern but still fit in the context of a historic brick campus.
The design for the new Central Washington University (CWU) building included a clear single slope skylight and a 103’ long x 6’ slope frame. A highly thermally efficient, clear tempered low-e glass was used to maximize views.

“We are a local roofing company that has been purchasing skylights from DĀLYTE for quite a while. They have always done a great job with every order we place with them and everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!”
“DĀLYTE is the only skylight company that Elite Roofing trusts. They go above and beyond the help determine your needs then finding an easy solution to your problems. They also let insurance companies know that you need to replace your full skylight and not just reglaze the existing one.”
